FDA Science Forum 2019

Updated: Nov 18, 2019

Silver Spring, Maryland September 11, 2019 - September 12, 2019

This event was open to the public and the press to highlight the range and depth of cutting-edge science and technology being researched and applied across the Agency. The Forum gives our stakeholders in industry, academia, sister government agencies, and patient advocacy groups a change to learn about opportunities to collaborate with FDA - and to see firsthand the diverse regulatory science expertise we bring to protecting, promoting, and advancing public health.

Transforming Health: Innovation in FDA Science

In this poster, my colleague and optics expert Dr. Ryan Beams and I combined our two areas of research in virtual and augmented reality as they go hand in hand- I take a deeper dive into the color rendering pipeline while he assesses display artifacts from various optical fabrication techniques such as the different patterns of transverse chromatic aberrations (TCA) observed across head-mounted display devices. We were both heavily involved in each other's work, so it made sense to combine the two findings into a single cohesive presentation.
